Fatty-liver disease can lead to severe problems like permanent liver damage and cirrhosis, which is when your liver becomes severely scarred, making it difficult to function.
How Do Triglycerides Circulate In The Blood
Pure cholesterol cannot mix with or dissolve in the blood. Instead, the liver packages cholesterol with triglycerides and proteins called lipoproteins. The lipoproteins move this fatty mixture to areas throughout the body.
Types of these lipoproteins include very low-density lipoproteins , high-density lipoproteins and low-density lipoproteins .

What Is Considered A Healthy Insulin Level For The Brain

Her basal morning body temperature is consistently low and never reaches close to normal throughout the day.
If she were truly hyper-thyroid, her body temperature would be above normal, not suppressed.
She would also exhibit hyper-thyroid symptoms instead of the common hypothyroid symptoms of which she complains, such as always feeling cold.
When we see high T3 levels and low body temperature, we know that thyroid hormone is being blocked and not being used properly.
In some cases, we find this being caused by either low cholesterol or low vitamin A, yet both have been ruled out in this case.
Her reverse-T3 is higher than we like to see, which can be another factor.
Ideally we like to see reverse-T3 at the low end of the reference range.
It often increases in response to stress in an attempt to reserve energy by inhibiting metabolism and the use of T3.
The suspected elevated cortisol mentioned above is likely at play here.

Triglycerides And Your Muscles
Remember how we said that if you have more triglycerides than your body really needs, itll get stored in places its not meant to go? The muscles may be one of those places.
According to Harvard Health, its possible that having high triglycerides could be a warning sign that your muscles and other tissues in your body are becoming insulin resistantthats when your body doesnt respond to the hormone insulin like its supposed too. In fact, some research shows that too much of this fat in the skeletal muscles is associated with insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and obesity.
When Triglycerides Go Bad
First off, how does something the body needs to function become bad for your health? Lets first look at where triglycerides come from.
When you eat, your liver converts the calories your body doesnt need to use right away into triglycerides, which then get stored in fat cells, explains Michael Shapiro, D.O., a cardiologist at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC.
When you have a balanced diet, your triglyceride production is usually balanced, too. But if you regularly overeat, those levels will continue to climb. And if triglycerides are high enough for long enough, they can deposit in areas where theyre not intended, says Dr. Shapiro. And thats when they endanger your health.

Saturated, unhealthy fats are bad. But your body needs healthy fats such as those found in olive oil and fish oil to keep your triglyceride levels normal and to maintain your overall health. If you dont get enough dietary fats, your body will revert to transforming the sugars you consume into fats .
This goes against the popular but unfounded belief that your body wont store fat as long as you dont eat fats. In truth, high-carbohydrate diets can be much worse than high-fat diets for your triglyceride levels. Many scientists advocate that high-carb, low-fat diets likely also contributed to the obesity epidemic in America over the past few decades .
High Triglycerides And Cholesterol: What Is The Difference
Your body needs a certain amount of fat to help promote its cell structure and metabolic function. The term fat is broad and refers to multiple different forms that your body creates or receives from food. Triglycerides are one form that your body produces to store excess energy from your diet. The term cholesterol is broad and used to describe a type of fat floating around in your bloodstream these include HDL and LDL. Cholesterol is produced by the body but it can also be derived from food. It is used for cell and hormone production.
When a person has high levels of LDL, or bad cholesterol, combined with high levels of triglycerides, the chances of plaque formation in their arteries increases, increasing their risk of atherosclerosis .

Like I said above, high triglycerides is a hallmark sign of insulin resistance . IR is the very root cause of fatigue associated with high triglycerides.
When the insulin receptors on cells become desensitized to insulin, sugar stays in the bloodstream and doesnt get into the cells to produce energy.
Additionally, the unused sugar binds to the hemoglobin A1C and causes it to go up over time. Elevated hemoglobin A1C is also associated with fatigue because of the decreased red blood cell health and diminished oxygen carrying capacity of the red blood cells that are loaded up with excessive sugar.
Basically, all that high triglycerides are is stored sugar. The problem from a fatigue and energy standpoint is that the stored sugar is in the liver.
