Too Much Or Too Little Activity

Periodic Limb Movement Disorder
Though you are probably unaware of it, you may be involuntarily moving your legs during the night as you sleep. The movement may be significant enough to wake you. People with PLMD often complain of feeling unrested and of daytime sleepiness.

Being Overweight Or Underweight
Overweight increases the risk of fatigue by increasing the risk of conditions that have fatigue as a common symptom, such as diabetes or sleep apnea.
Carrying more weight and experiencing joint or muscle pain can lead to or exacerbate fatigue.

Not Eating Enough Calories
Consuming too few calories can cause feelings of exhaustion.
Calories are units of energy found in food. Your body uses them to move and fuel processes like breathing and maintaining a constant body temperature.
When you eat too few calories, your metabolism slows down in order to conserve energy, potentially causing fatigue.
Your body can function within a range of calories depending on your weight, height, age and other factors.
However, most people require a minimum of 1,200 calories per day to prevent a metabolic slowdown.
Experts on aging believe that although metabolism decreases with age, older people may need to eat at the top of their calorie range in order to perform normal functions without becoming fatigued .
In addition, its difficult to meet your vitamin and mineral needs when calorie intake is too low. Not getting enough vitamin D, iron and other important nutrients can also lead to fatigue.
Your body requires a minimum number of calories in order to perform daily functions. Consuming too few calories can lead to fatigue and make it difficult to meet nutrient needs.

What Is Excessive Sleepiness
Although excessive sleepiness overlaps with fatigue, it is a distinctly different symptom. When a person experiences excessive sleepiness, they tend to nod off or fall asleep when they want to be awake. When a person experiences fatigue, they often feel tired but do not usually fall asleep when they want to be awake.
Excessive sleepiness is often referred to as excessive daytime sleepiness, or EDS, by physicians and sleep specialists. To eliminate or reduce your EDS, you must first figure out why you are experiencing it.
Too Much Alcohol Or Caffeine
While drinking alcohol may help you to fall asleep at first, it actually disrupts your sleep by causing you to wake up more frequently during the night. Whenever a patient sees Cappola for fatigue, she says she talks with them about reasonable expectations. “Our society builds this belief that you should be on the run all the time, but that’s not sustainable for many of us,” she says. “If your schedule’s changed or you haven’t been sleeping enough or something else is going on, feeling tired is natural.”
