Other Potential Heart Attack Signs

Gastroparesis Signs & Symptoms (ex. Nausea, Abdominal Pain, Weight Loss)

Heart attack signs look different for everyone, although there are a few common ones to watch for.

  • Neck, jaw, arm, and back pain: Pain radiating to your jaw, back, neck, or arms may signal a heart condition, especially if the origin is hard to pinpoint. For example, you might feel pain, but no specific muscle or joint aches. If the discomfort begins or worsens when you are exerting yourself, and then stops when you quit exercising, you should also get it checked out.
  • Unexpected sweating: During menopause, many women experience hot flashes. However, sudden or excessive sweating associated with other symptoms such as nausea or chest pressure can also be a heart attack sign. Stress sweat when there is no real cause for stress, or sweating or shortness of breath accompanied by other symptoms, such as chest pain or fatigue, can be cause for concern.
  • Chest pain: Chest pain/pressure is a very common heart attack sign, but can feel different than you might think. We need to dig deeper into the symptom of chest pain for both men and women as it relates to heart attacks, Dr. Cho says. It is seldom as dramatic as you might think, and it can feel like pressure or heart burn that comes on over time.

Changes To Bowel Habits

Pancreatic cancer can cause diarrhoea and constipation . If you are over 60, have lost weight and have diarrhoea or constipation, your GP should refer you for a CT scan or ultrasound scan within two weeks.

Pancreatic cancer can also cause pale, oily poo which is called steatorrhoea. Poo may be large, smell horrible, float and can be difficult to flush down the toilet. This is caused by fat in the poo. It happens if pancreatic cancer has affected your digestion, so that fat in your food isnt digested properly.

How Are Abdominal Pain And Loss Of Appetite Treated

To treat your abdominal pain and loss of appetite, your doctor will try to identify and address their underlying cause. Theyll likely start by asking you about your symptoms and medical history. Theyll want to know about the quality of your pain. Theyll also ask about when it started, what makes the pain worse or better, and whether you have other symptoms.

They may also ask if youve taken a new medication, consumed spoiled food, been around anyone with similar symptoms, or traveled to another country. In some cases, your doctor may also order blood, urine, stool, or imaging tests to check for potential causes.

Your doctors recommended treatment plan will depend on your diagnosis. Ask them for more information about your specific diagnosis, treatment options, and outlook.

If you suspect that a medication is causing your symptoms, dont stop taking it until you talk to your doctor first.

What Causes Back Pain Loss Of Appetite Nausea Fatigue Lower Back Pain

Stomach Pain Loss Of Appetite, Nausea, Fatigue / Stomach Pain Nausea ...

Back pain causes are as diverse as they are common. The most common are muscular, skeletal, and disc problems. Despite their seemingly simple nature, these conditions can be very painful. Some of the most common cause of back pain is improper posture. You should always strive to sit with your shoulders over your hips. This helps to keep your spine in the proper alignment. When you deviate from this position, you put extra pressure on your back muscles, which may lead to muscle spasms and even a spinal stenosis.

Some of the most common back pain causes are as described above: a dull ache in the back that can radiate to the buttocks or legs. Although not all cases of back pain are as serious, there are a variety of symptoms that can be caused by back issues. A doctor can determine the exact cause of your back pain by asking about your symptoms and performing a physical exam. Sometimes an x-ray will be taken to check whether your bones are aligned properly and to rule out any broken bones. Unfortunately, x-rays cant detect if your disks and nerves have been damaged.

Seek Medical Help For Heart Palpitations That Last 15 Minutes

An intermittent extra heartbeat here or there isnt something that should concern you. But if you have heart palpitations that last longer than 15 minutes especially if theyre accompanied by shortness of breath, weakness, dizziness, or loss of consciousness you should be checked out, Simmons says. These symptoms could indicate a heart condition called atrial fibrillation.

In atrial fibrillation, the top chambers of the heart beat more quickly than the lower chambers. When prolonged, this can result in blood clots that can move to other parts of the body and may lead to stroke or heart failure over time.

The Dr just keeps giving me Prilosec, even AFTER I increased it on my own, now dr has added Zantac. NO difference. I am exhausted, cant exersize anymore, my stomach hurts all the time. I am miserable. I fear I may be going insane! I just want one day where I am free from pain. Pain in my back, belly, fatigue. I hope they will get off of their rears and do something!

I am in the same place. A week and a half ago my breasts were so sore and swollen it subsided but my nipples have stayed at attention since. Last week I took 2 drinks of chocolate wine and 20 minutes later was vomiting like crazy. I have been nausea ever since. Tests came back neg but still not due to have period for 7 days yet. I know what I am feeling is exactly like what happened with my daughter. I am just wondering if its me trying to convince myself I am pregnant or actually am. The waiting sucks. I will feel like a fool if I am not.

What Is In The ‘how Is Pancreatic Cancer Diagnosed’ Section

Give your GP a good description of your symptoms, including any changes to your bowel habits. It can help to keep a diary of your symptoms and how often you have them. Mention anything unusual to your GP, even if you are not sure if it is relevant. If your GP asks you to come back and see them at a later date, make sure you do.

Some people see their GP several times before getting a diagnosis. If you have unexplained symptoms that last four weeks or more, go back to your GP until you get a firm diagnosis, or a referral for tests to find out whats causing them.

Will The Gp Refer Me For Tests

Your GP may make a request for tests at hospital to work out what is causing your symptoms. Read more about the tests used to diagnose pancreatic cancer.

If you have jaundice, your GP should refer you urgently for a CT scan.

Your GP should also refer you for a CT scan within two weeks if you are over 60 and have unexplained weight loss and any of the following symptoms:

  • tummy or back pain
  • constipation
  • or you have been diagnosed with diabetes in the past year.

Being referred urgently does not necessarily mean that you have cancer.

If you are very unwell, your GP may send you straight to hospital. Or you may go to accident and emergency yourself. For example, you might go to hospital because you have severe pain. Once you are in hospital, the doctors can assess your symptoms and do tests to work out whats wrong. They can also treat any symptoms you have.
