Third Trimester Care And Changes
Exercise: There are several exercise programs for expecting and post delivery mothers. Your doctor can suggest some, but youll need to know your own limitations. This is not the time to start an exercise program if you have never exercised before. Try walking.
Diet: A balanced diet is still key. Frequent, smaller meals will make you feel more comfortable. After your baby drops, you will experience less stomach discomfort. Before labor begins, many mothers actually lose weight or stop gaining.
Sexual relations: If you have a normal pregnancy you can have sex, but you may have to look for a more comfortable position. Its normal to lose temporary interest in sex. If you have risk factors for premature labor, have any bleeding or are carrying multiples, sex may be restricted. Check with your doctor.
Regular activities: Continue with your activities of daily living, as long you do not tire. Take rest periods throughout the day. Get off your feet, raise your legs, listen to relaxing music or take a nap. Slowly decrease the amount of bending, lifting, stooping and pushing you do as your pregnancy advances. Avoid carrying heavy laundry baskets and groceries, especially in your last trimester. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of fluids, especially in warmer weather. By taking care of yourself you are taking good care of your baby.
Common Symptoms Women Should Never Ignore
Certain symptoms women commonly experience after age 40 may be nothing to worry about, particularly if theyre part of your norm. But when you have a sudden change like headache, nausea, fatigue, unexpected vaginal bleeding, heart palpitations that last more than 15 minutes, or a rash on your breast that doesnt go away within a couple of days, its wise to see your doctor.
The reality is that a lot of times these symptoms are normal, says Courtney Baechler, MD, a cardiologist and vice president of the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis. To put things in perspective, she reminds her patients that these are all things they’ve probably experienced in one form or another in just the past week but they can also indicate a more serious health condition.
Take extreme fatigue in women, for example. Fibromyalgia syndrome, a disorder that causes chronic, deep muscle pain, may cause debilitating fatigue, even headache. Fibromyalgia is a syndrome that occurs more often in women than men and has no known cure. Medication, getting sound sleep, being active, and eating a healthy diet may help the extreme fatigue of fibromyalgia.
Severe fatigue may also be caused by much more serious conditions that need a doctors attention, including, for example:
- Some types of inflammatory arthritis

Weakness And Pain In The Legs
Pain in the legs can appear on different sites: in the feet, legs, fingers, knees. Weakness and pain in the legs can be accompanied by swelling, convulsions, burning sensation, tingling and numbness, pallor and even blueening of the skin of the lower limbs. Of course, only an experienced doctor will be able to establish the correct diagnosis and suggest the treatment. We will consider the main possible reasons for this state:
- poor blood circulation
- pinched nerve in the lumbosacral radiculitis
- flat feet
- closed trauma of the lower limb
- one of the manifestations of bursitis, arthritis or gout.
How to determine on your own, what disease can be associated with weakness and pain in the legs? There are following signs, which are worth paying attention to:
- if weakness and pain in the leg passes, if the limbs are elevated, this may mean that the problem is in the venous system
- if weakness and pain in the leg passes, if the limb is lowered – problems with the arteries
- if weakness and pain in the leg is combined with a feeling of numbness and “crawling crawling” – the cause may be the spine.
And yet, for a more reliable answer to this question, a series of studies should be conducted in a medical institution.

Excessive Consumption Of Alcohol
Alcohol is a depressant, so drinking too much of it can lead to low mood and possibly even clinical depression. This in itself can cause fatigue, as the stress resulting from a low mood can use up a lot of energy and affect sleep. Alcohol is also a sedative, so drinking regularly can induce a constant sleepy state, affecting everyday life.
Is Surprising Or Sudden Weight Gain Serious
Dramatic, unexplained changes in weight can be a sign of a serious health problem. For example, weight loss can be a sign of cancer, while weight gain may be a warning sign of heart failure or thyroid issues. If you experience new bloating or distension in your midsection that is persistent, it could be a sign of ovarian cancer, says Dr. Baechler. Ovarian cancer is uncommon, yet bloating is often one of the first symptoms.
If you have weight gain along with swelling in both of your legs and shortness of breath when you lie flat, you could be showing signs of heart failure, says Ashley Simmons, MD, medical director of the University of Kansas Hospital’s Adelaide C. Ward Women’s Heart Health Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Rapid weight gain, swelling, and retention of fluid can occur when your heart doesnt pump fluid as efficiently as it should.

Changes To Bowel Habits
Pancreatic cancer can cause diarrhoea and constipation . If you are over 60, have lost weight and have diarrhoea or constipation, your GP should refer you for a CT scan or ultrasound scan within two weeks.
Pancreatic cancer can also cause pale, oily poo which is called steatorrhoea. Poo may be large, smell horrible, float and can be difficult to flush down the toilet. This is caused by fat in the poo. It happens if pancreatic cancer has affected your digestion, so that fat in your food isnt digested properly.
Tingling And Numbness In Your Hands
Carpal tunnel syndrome tingling and numbness in your hands affects up to 60 per cent of women during pregnancy. It is caused by compression of the median nerve due to an increase in the tissue fluids during pregnancy.
Carpal tunnel syndrome may be mild, intermittently painful, or severe, which may cause partial paralysis of the thumb or loss of sensation. Symptoms usually resolve on their own soon after birth.
If you are experiencing tingling and numbness in your hands, inform your doctor or midwife. In very severe cases, your doctor may recommend corticosteroid injections or surgical treatment.

See Your Doctor For Unexpected Bowel Habit Changes
Bowel movements are a measure of how things are passing through your body, which means they can be a good indicator of something thats awry. Conditions like colon cancer and anal cancer can have similar symptoms. These include bleeding or blood in the stool, and any major changes in the amount, frequency , consistency, or appearance of stools.
Bowel changes that dont go away after a couple of days or weeks should be checked out with your doctor. It’s really normal most of the time, but its just always good to get routine checkups if something is changing, Baechler says.

It’s a big blow for the high-earning, career-driven project manager who took pride in handling stressful situations and juggling multiple tasks.
These days, her mind doesn’t work like it used to.
“It’s just little things like struggling to find the word that I just knew I would know sorry like being able to construct sentences,” she says with an ironic laugh.
“I can try to read something but it just seems like I have to read it over and over and over again.
“I frequently walk into a room and can’t remember why, when I would put something down, seriously, two minutes later I have no idea where it is.

In the COVID-ravaged UK, daily cases peaked at more than 68,000 and daily deaths at more than 1,300. It’s a situation few in Australia where we have enjoyed long periods of little-to-no community transmission can fully appreciate.
Adam Attia was living in London through most of 2020 and says it was almost rare if you hadn’t had COVID-19.
“I’ve known of people that had given it to their parents and it killed their parents,” the 30-year-old Australian says. “People that we knew on our street had passed away.”
So one day around August, when Adam couldn’t taste the wasabi on his sushi, he immediately knew what was wrong.

Fatigue And Nausea After Eating
It is fairly normal for a persons energy levels to dip after eating. This happens because the body redirects blood to the digestive system to help break down food in the stomach.
Eating too much may cause a large dip in energy levels since the body has more food to digest. Overeating may also cause feelings of fullness or nausea.
Symptoms of fatigue and nausea after eating can sometimes signal a digestive issue. Other possible symptoms of a digestive disease include:
- getting a lot of fresh air
- finding distractions, such as listening to music, watching a movie, or reading a book
In addition, people should avoid the following:
- preparing or eating strong-smelling foods
- eating foods that are spicy, fried, or greasy
- eating too fast
Second Trimester Care And Changes
Exercise: Exercise is still important, but do not exhaust yourself. Walking is one of the best choices, so take a daily walk at a comfortable rate if weather permits. Keep up your Kegel exercises as well as pelvic rocking. Maintain correct posture.
Diet: Eat smaller but more frequent meals. Fresh fruits and vegetables should help you maintain regular bowel movements. Increase your fluids.

Early Signs Of Ms: 10 Common Symptoms Of Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis, or MS, is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system, which includes the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerve. The immune system attacks and damages or destroys the myelin as well as the nerve fibers themselves. Myelin is the protective covering that insulates the nerve fibers. When the nerve covering is inflamed and gradually destroyed, communication between affected nerve fibers can become distorted, delayed, or lost. While there is no cure for MS, researchers have discovered many treatments to slow its progression.
Since MS is such an unpredictable disease, symptoms vary greatly from person to person. So, what are symptoms or early signs of MS? Explore the list below to learn more.
Weak Legs And Temperature
Now we will understand the possible causes of such a combined symptom, such as weakness in the legs and temperature. At the same time, the first thing that comes to mind is a catarrhal disease. Maybe, but not necessarily: you can not even see signs of a cold.
Basically, the reasons can be the following:
- hypothermia or overheating of the body – there is a violation of thermoregulation in the body
- penetration and development in the body of a bacterial, viral or fungal infection – an increase in temperature and weakness of the body responds to the introduction of an infectious agent and “stimulates” immunity
- excessive emotional overload – cause both changes in blood pressure, and temperature changes, and weakness
- poor-quality and stale food, intestinal poisoning – cause a protective reaction of the body
- physical overload
- any intoxication
- prolonged exposure to the sun
- allergic manifestations.
If the weakness in the legs and the temperature does not pass for 2-3 days, or the temperature is very high, you should definitely consult a doctor.

Abdominal Pain And Stomach Cramps
It is normal to have abdominal pain from time-to-time, caused by gas, stomach bugs, or even food poisoning. However, if you or a loved one is experiencing abdominal pain that you would describe as intense, crampy, and the pain doesnt go away in a day or two, or has been present on and off for weeks or longer, its time to see a healthcare provider to find out whats wrong.
Treatment For Headaches And Nausea
A number of things can ease migraine with nausea. They include:
- Lifestyle changes.Stress is a common trigger for nauseating migraine headaches. Find ways to cut it, and your attacks could get less severe and happen less often. What else helps? Quit smoking, and keep a diary to identify any foods that trigger your headaches. Common culprits include chocolate and alcohol.
- Medications. Your doctor might prescribe drugs to prevent migraine headaches, to stop them once theyve started, and to ease your symptoms. You can also take anti-nausea medications during your headache. They come in different forms, like pills, suppositories, syrups, and shots. They have a number of side effects, so work with your doctor to find the best one for you.
- Complementary treatments. Some evidence shows that biofeedback and acupuncture may help ease migraine and related symptoms, such as nausea. Meditation can also help.

These symptoms arent a strong match to a particular medical condition. If these symptoms are new and getting worse, its best to see your doctor. Pay attention to what other symptoms you may be having. Providing additional symptoms may help pinpoint what may be going on. For any symptoms that concern you or dont go away, your doctor is your best resource to help you get to the bottom of whats causing them.
While the list below can be considered as a guide to educate yourself about these conditions, this is not a substitute for a diagnosis from a health care provider. There are many other medical conditions that also can be associated with your symptoms and signs. Here are a number of those from MedicineNet:
Persistent Leg Pain On One Side May Be A Blood Clot
Swelling and pain in one leg that doesn’t go away may signal that you have a blood clot inside a vein, known as deep vein thrombosis . These signs should be tended to at once, particularly if youre at higher risk for DVT. Risk factors that make DVT blood clots more likely get riskier with age. These include smoking, having surgery, being on estrogen-containing pills or hormone therapy, being immobile for a long period of time , being pregnant, and recently giving birth. A life-threatening pulmonary embolism can occur when a blood clot moves from one part of your body to your lungs and blocks a vital artery there. According to Dr. Simmons, about 70 percent of blood clots that travel to the lungs begin in the legs.

How Severe Is The Pain
Previously, a ZOE COVID Study said the pain is usually around the middle of the belly. One may also feel soreness around it. When present, abdominal pains usually occur in the first few days of illness and, in most people, tend to go quite quickly .
In milder cases, abdominal pains usually appear alongside headaches and fatigue. They also tend to occur with a loss of smell and unusual muscle pains in adults. Abdominal pains can also sometimes happen alongside fever, a sore throat, and skipping meals across all age groups, study also says.
