This is my second rodeo with Xarelto. Now Im on it for life. I do feel fatique some days. And on the best days, it doesnt take much before I feel like I need to rest a bit.

I take my Xarelto at bedtime. If you are takin it at bedtime, speak to your doctor about maybe taking it earlier in the day. If your labs are good, your anxiety may be coming from even having to deal with clots at all.

Whenever I have side effect questions, I either call the pharmacist or drugs.com is a good site to check out.

Hope you feel better.

How Can You Manage Tiredness Caused By Anxiety

If the above description of anxiety-related tiredness and its symptoms sounds familiar, its time to put together an action plan for managing and mitigating.

When it comes to naps, keep them short and early in the day. Avoid taking naps within a few hours of bedtime, and try to limit them to 20 minutes each. This is the appropriate time for a power nap, which will give you a short burst of energy, but wont affect your sleep at night. Its also important to avoid relying on caffeine. Even though you might feel the urge to drink coffee or energy drinks every time you feel tired, it can further derail your sleep progress.

If possible, maintain a consistent sleep routine. Even if you dont get the ideal amount of sleep each night, its important to keep it consistent. Go to bed and wake up around the same time each day to help get your mind and body into a good rhythm. And, though you probably dont want to, its important to take a technology break. When you feel like your mind is overworked, take a 10-minute break from screens. The goal is to remove stimuli that put even more stress on your brain. Go into a dark room, close your eyes, and just let your brain recharge. These relaxation techniques can be a beneficial stress response.

Exhaustion caused by anxiety is debilitating, and you dont have to live in a constant state of tiredness. Deciding to address the problem is the first step, and Advekit is here to help.

What Is Pots And Why Does It Cause Fatigue

POTS is a group of symptoms resulting from dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system. This branch of the nervous system regulates functions we dont consciously control like sweating and blood circulation.

In people with POTS, more blood collects in the lower body when standing upright. The heart beats faster to pump it up to the brain, but with little success. The causes of POTS are unknown, but the problem is thought to lie in the communication breakdown between the brain and the cardiovascular system.

POTS-related fatigue is physical in nature and the mechanism behind it is not fully understood. It may have several causes, including your body working harder to move the blood.

Can Anxiety Cause Extreme Fatigue

Symptoms: Sadness feeling hopeless, worthless, and helpless fatigue

Sometimes, depression or anxiety is at the root of chronic fatigue. Depression affects twice as many women as men and often runs in families. It commonly begins between the ages of 15 and 30.

Postpartum depression can happen after the birth of a baby. Some people get seasonal affective disorder in the winter, with feelings of fatigue and sadness. Major depression is also one part of bipolar disorder.

With depression, you might be in a depressed mood most of the day. You may have little interest in normal activities. Along with feelings of fatigue, you may eat too much or too little, over- or under-sleep, feel hopeless and worthless, and have other serious symptoms.

  • Feeling “on alert” most of the time
  • Feeling of impending doom

If you are depressed or have regular symptoms of anxiety, talk to your doctor and get a physical exam. If there is no physical cause for the depression or anxiety, your doctor may talk with you about treatment options, and may refer you to a psychiatrist or psychologist for a psychological evaluation.

Although the specific causes of depression and/or anxiety are unclear, these are highly treatable medical problems. Medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of the two can help relieve symptoms.

People with POTS experience fatigue differently. Many describe it as feeling beyond exhausted. Its as if your energy is completely depleted. The fatigue is probably hundreds of times worse than your worst flu. People with POTS may also have trouble concentrating and thinking straight. Doing simple tasks may feel like youve just run a marathon.

This fatigue might come and go, hitting you without warning daily, weekly or less frequently. For some people, extreme fatigue lasts for days. Others may experience periodic attacks. It can come on at any moment even if you just woke up. And there is no amount of sleep or coffee that can make it go away.

You’re Crying All The Time

It’s normal to feel a bit weepy when you’re overly tired. But if your fatigue is due to anxiety, it could reveal itself as an outpouring of emotion that doesn’t go away, even if you’ve had a good night’s sleep. It’s normal to be overly-emotional when you’re anxious, Zodkoy says, as well as a bit depressed.

How Is A Pots Diagnosis Made

Chronic Fatigue

Problems with the autonomic nervous system can be difficult to diagnose. The standard test for POTS is the tilt table test. During the test, you are secured to a table that tilts from being horizontal to almost a 90-degree angle. The test measures your hearts response to switching from laying down to standing up. Some people with POTS faint during this test, even if they rarely faint standing up.

Although the test seems straightforward, many things can interfere with it. Its important that a POTS specialist oversees it. Its best to work with a doctor who has diagnosed and treated patients with POTS. This could be a cardiologist, a neuromuscular specialist or another doctor.

Again, anxiety often goes hand in hand with physical symptoms, so don’t ignore any weird issues you might be experiencing. As Hershenson says, if you’re struggling with anxiety, “you likely will experience other symptoms such as stomach pain, migraines, shortness of breath, and heart palpitations.” So if your tiredness comes with a heaping helping of bellyaches, it might be your anxiety acting up.

Stress Causes Fatigue By Making You Depressed

One of the other big problems with chronic stress is that it can trigger depression. By disrupting your mood and making you depressed, it can sabotage your energy levels.

Mood and energy levels are very much intertwined. Think about it: How many times in your life can you remember feeling like you are bursting with energy but also feeling really sad? How many times can you remember feeling terribly depressed but feeling like your energy is amazing? Both of those scenarios are extraordinarily rare.

Usually, energy and mood work together in positive upward spirals or negative downward spirals. Better moods facilitate better energy, and better energy facilitates better moods. And vice versa.

So one of the big problems with chronic stress is that it wrecks your mood. And along with that, your energy. There are many ways that stress wrecks your mood:

  • CRH and dynorphin both are implicated in causing depressive episodes. ,,
  • Chronic HPA activation is also known to induce depression.
  • Chronic stress can cause neurotransmitter resistance and imbalances in the brain , and those neurotransmitter effects are linked with depression. ,
  • Chronic stress also decreases BDNF and impairs neurogenesis both of which are important in staving off depression.
  • Chronic stress causes certain important energy-regulating areas of the brain to atrophy .

What Are The 3 Types Of Fatigue

There are three types of fatigue: transient, cumulative, and circadian:

  • Transient fatigue is acute fatigue brought on by extreme sleep restriction or extended hours awake within 1 or 2 days.
  • Cumulative fatigue is fatigue brought on by repeated mild sleep restriction or extended hours awake across a series of days.

Shift Work Sleep Disorder

Shift work can wreak havoc on your bodys 24-hour internal clock, or circadian rhythm. When you work nights or rotate shifts, your body doesnt know when to be awake and when to sleep, which causes fatigue.

Daylight is often a cue to be awake. If you must sleep during the day, try to make your sleeping area as dark, cool, and quiet as possible. If you must work at night, keep your workplace brightly lit. Try to work night shifts all in a row and avoid frequently rotating shifts. Stay away from caffeine, and stick to a regular sleep-wake schedule as much as possible on days off.
